How to care for bedsores at home

 Bedsores:

Many people remain bedridden for long periods due to illness or surgery or due to age. Then his movement, eating and drinking became dependent on others. Lying in this way gives birth to bedsores, which are known as pressure injuries/pressure ulcers. Many people think death is imminent when they have bedsores. But with a little awareness, it can be prevented before it becomes serious. In fact, whether a patient becomes a bedsores or not depends largely on how he is cared for.

Why do bedsores occur?

When we lie on the bed, the pressure points of the body such as the back of the head and ears, shoulder, elbow, lower back and buttocks, hips, sides of the knees, ankles etc. touch the bed. These pressure points are located on the bones. Bones are covered by tissue, but in some areas the covering is less. It is in these low places that the possibility of bedsores increases. In places where there is less tissue, the pressure is more, as a result, blood circulation is less disturbed there. Disruption leads to tissue damage, resulting in bedsores. It has been seen that the tissue can take continuous pressure for up to two hours, after which the problem starts. So it is important to change the side of the patient in bed every two hours.
